I've been active all my life.  My grandma taught me to swim when I was barely walking and I started racing when I was 4.  As a child I played soccer, baseball, gymnastics, ballet, tap dance, ran cross country, and swam.  Being active and being physically fit is in my blood, it's who I am, it's what I enjoy doing.

In college, I played lacrosse on a team that went from barely having enough players to competing against some of the top teams in California. I've run marathons and competed in triathlons.  I'm competitive, but mostly with myself.  I'm competitive with others only in the way that I use them as motivation to go faster, be stronger, and do my absolute best.  This is one of the reasons I love playing on teams and working out in groups, it pushes me and it's great comradery.

My most rewarding accomplishment, though, is having my daughter.  I love being a mom (most days), but it's absolutely essential for me to stay physically active.  It's through this activity I am able to stay happy, balanced and ready to take on each new day with everything it takes to be a good mom.  Being physically fit makes me happy and a happy mom is a good mom.

I graduated from Cal Poly in '98 with a BS in Kinisiology.  After that I lived in Montana and Alaska, finding adventures and my way through life.  I got my teaching credential and have taught for the last 8 years.  I've taught everything from Kindergarten to 6th grade.  Now I stay home and am my daughter's teacher, there isn't anything more rewarding.

I hope you'll come and join us for our next workout!
